Hurricane Irma Tree Debris Removal Beginning on Duck Key
On Friday, October 6th, 2017 Hurricane Irma tree debris was starting to be cleaned up. Only a couple of trucks arrived on the Island to start the process but additional trucks are on the way. we have confirmed that clean up is ongoing and that the crews will not leave Duck Key until the debris has been removed.
We know that it has taken longer to get this process started than it did when Hurricane Wilma hit Duck Key. But you must remember that Hurricane Irma caused a lot more damage to the Keys than Wilma did. There has been several times more debris from this event. Which causes longer clean up times at every location debris is being removed from.
